Hi Robert,

I was thinking it could be Campiglossa spec.

Hi Robert,

Jan Willem is right, it's an Campiglossa. Probably C. misella, but that is very difficult to determine from a picture...
You state, you found it 'today'. You mean you actually found this specimen alive on februari the 1st??
The earliest records I have of a Campiglossa is a C. absinthii on may 18th!
Therefore I would be very interested in the exact data, including the locallity, and if you happen to have collected the specimen I would like to confirm the identity.

Best wishes,

John

Thank you both,

The data and locallity is the same as this bug:

http://www.waarneming.nl/wn_details.php?id=1978715

I think there will be many earliest records this year!
There are a lot of insekts flying already!!

I did not collect it as specimen..

I'm glad I didn't dare to give a species name Wink.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
