I thought to see a subscutellum in picture 2 Does this not then exclude Calliphoridae?

But on further thought and looking around it may also look like a Calliphoridae species Bellardia (cf scripta?)

Well, I see a reflection of something in photo-2 but that could just be the back of the thorax. The abdomen shape could indicate Cynomya but I really don't know calliphorids very well Smile

I know Cynomya mortuorum which occurs in the Netherlands well. This one is not that species.
I am still much interested if further insight can be given.

With thanks,

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
