I took this picture on July 23, 2023 in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The louse fly was found in the fur of our dog, the body length was only 3 mm.
Is it possible to identify the species?
Best regards, Frank

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
