Hello,
I found these two louse flies in our dog's fur after a walk in the forest on September 15, 2021 in Germany, Schleswig-Holstein.
Can the photos be used to decide whether it is Lipoptena cervi or Lipoptena fortisetosa?
Unfortunately I didn't measure the animals.
Thank you and best regards, Frank

Hi Frank, difficult from the photos - but mid September points to L. cervi.
Greetings, Eric Kloeckner

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
