Hello forum, This fly looks like an Phaonia, but strangly I think it is a Fanniidae.. My guess is female Piezura graminicola (Zetterstedt), Fanniidae.

Stephane, you use "European Fanniidae..."? You have to update this book: P.graminicola now is P. pardalina Rondani and P. boletorum is now P. graminicola Ztt. So, this fly is now P. pardalina (see: Fanaeur.org) Nikita Nikita Vikhrev - Zool Museum of Moscow University |

Joke, if fly became black - put it in aceton for 2-12 hours (either with pin or without) - the natural color will come back

Joke, if fly became black - put it in aceton for 2-12 hours (either with pin or without) - the natural color will come back I wil change the name! And thanks for the tip! I keep my flies at a dark place and moisten the box regular, so til now, they are stil nice on color.....but you never know.. Joke |
