Habitat: On my (dirty) car

It sat on my car and for some reason it fell upside down. The water made it stick to the surface so it couldn't get away. I have no idea of what species this is. It seems from other posts that Hippoboscidae is common this time of year ...

I got a close encounter with one of those flat bodied flies ... I one day felt something creeping in the back of my head. It probably thought I was a deer Shock
