Hi all,

on 16.06.2020 I found this fly near a lake in Berlin (Germany), sitting on Iris pseudoacorus leaf. I think it is a Sepsidae species but I do not dare to identify it further. Can you help me?

Thanks for any help in advance!

Best, Adrian

Thanks Paul! There seem to be 13 species in Germany, I can understand that a species identification is not possible. Also the pictures are not showing much detail.. Wink

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
