Hi everyone,
this is my first post, but you'll likely get more questions from me in the future! I'm a photographer from Argentina, macro has always been one of my main interests. Now I'm also doing some video, and while shooting an amazing sunset a couple of days ago, I camo upon this little pond full of what at first I thought were mosquitoes, but on closer inspection looked like something different.
Asked in a couple of Facebook groups with no luck, then I found this site.
The first image is a big crop, hence the lack of definition, Couldn't get any closer in order to do a proper macro shot. In the video you can see the kind of water surface skating they do. In the other couple of pictures you can see how many there were.
Any help on this would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Patricio

I'd agree with Brachydeutera.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
