In this case: Eyes widely separated. Does not apply to all syrphids.

Great, This site is very professional. I has watching those Ischiodon visiting my garden. after the larva is well feed it crawl into the earth. here as a bonus image of Ischiodon aegyptius pupa. zcuc attached the following image: [57.16Kb] |

Sorry, I have no better pictures. They are so quick it is almost imposibale to get a got image, especially with my old camera. I uploaded those two. |
