May 12, 2019, Moscow region, Naro-Fominsk district, Zosimova Pustyn' st. One male on a dead Populus tremula, moving more like a clusiid than a syrphid. Wing 6 mm, body length 7 mm.

In wing, tm meets R4+5 rather at straight angle than sharp angle as in Brachyopa.

Arista pubescent, hairs short. Abdominal segment 1 dark-brown, tergites 2 and 3 with extensive brownish-yellow lateral spots.
