Many thanks! I first thought it was a Brachyopa - but it didnĀ“t fit so well to any of these. Now I understand why. I live in the countryside with some older decidous forests in the neighborhood where I suppose the fly lives. Regards Krister Edited by ebbek on 25-05-2014 16:42 |

Yes, the species is associated with aspen (Populus tremula). Larvae live in rotting sap in recently fallen aspen logs.
