Hi,

is it possible to say anything about this Trichocera, quite large but should not be major, caught swarming in Lund, Skåne, Sweden, early November. I have it in the freeze if other angles are of interest.

It is not T.major , looks more like T.hiemalis or T.regelationis. If you could make a lateral picture of the ovipositor, it might help Smile

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
