Hi, a few days ago I took a few pictures of a tiny black fly on a daisy in our garden and I think it may be Phasia pusilla or maybe P. barbifrons. Can that be confirmed/excluded from the attached image? Is there any chance to distinguish the two species? Germany, Southern Bavaria, Garden in Munich (-West), some sort of Daisy, 09.05.2024, app. 3-4 mm Greetings, Uli ukursawe attached the following image: [282.31Kb] Edited by ukursawe on 13-05-2024 21:05 |

Hi Theo, thanks again. That seems to be a large group, even though many of the species do not occur here in Europe. Greetings, Uli |

Well, you have more species than published (I know), so there are several options. Of which pusilla is still by far the most common. Theo |
