Yellow fly in a forest --> Hydrophoria sp.

Hallo! Bavaria, 10.Mai This fly was about 6mm long, at a forest. I only have two pictures, the second picture is nearly the same as this one. First I thought about Helina. It has the appearance of a female Hydrophoria (Anthomyiidae).

Hallo Niels-Jan! So, we have 3 possible genus. Its difficult without a picture from above. I think the wings have no marks, like Phaonia and Helina. Regards, Dennis |

On the chaetotaxy of the front leg alone, I don't think this is Phaonia or Helina - much more likely to be an anthomyiid such as Hydrophoria
