Hi all, Caught, with malaisetrap, a nice series of Diastata ornata. However one specimen differs in habitus from the others as it has darker legs (photo above). Using Chandler 1987 I end up at D. nebulosa. The crossvein r-m clearly beyond r1 and basally with a white patch (photo below). As D. nebulosa is not recorded from the country I'd like to be shur of my ID. Can anyone help? Edited by Ectemnius on 12-01-2017 15:25 |

No reason to assume you are not right but can you send me one or more specimens. Dissecting male genitalia should clinch it.

Sorry, I misread the line about the series.

Hehe, Very well then, thnx for the conformation of my id Paul! I will write an article in NFM about this species and D. cervinala. I caught that species also back in 2015 near Pannerden. I'll dislodge the wings of the three species and will photograph them in stable positions. That should make ID'ing the species easier. You, perchance know how I could contact Peter Chandler for the use of his terminalia drawings? Greetings! |
