Photograph taken on 28 August 2015 in agricultural estate with avocados and custard apples and other fruit, Motril, Granada, Spain. Apparent size with wings, about 7-8 mm. When taking photographs, the fly had a slight greenish yellow now not observed. Thanks in advance for any help! As to bright red eyes, wing venation, three dark vittae on the thorax, and parafacial setulae, I consider it a female member of Sarcophagidae subfamily Sarcophaginae. See http://www.dipter...d_id=30535 for a discussion of the characters. These flies fooled me very often... Regards, Sundew Edited by Sundew on 08-09-2015 10:52 |
