In a Malaise trap near the Sonian forest in Brussels we found several Ptiolina. Might be P. nigrina or obscura. Problem is the genae are sparsely black haired in male and female and the discal cell is slender in male (nearly 5x as long as wide) while in the female the discal cell is shorter (nearly 3 times as long as wide). Male and female look he same species, but might be different. At RBINS there is a male with long dense white hairs on the genae. Wonder what this is. Here the image of the male. Dear all, please, also reply in the forum and not just to Patrick's email. My 2 cents: At the moment I store most Ptiolina just as Ptiolina sp. as I am most uncertain about what reliable characters are to separate the species. Wish someone had time to do a proper (West?)
