No, Andre. I am using the nomenclature of our national checklist: http://zoology.fns.uniba.sk/diptera2009/families/platystomatidae.htm

I think seminatione is correct by the rules of nomenclature. Genus names ending in -stoma are neuter according to ICZN article 30.1.2. The neuter form of the species name should be used if it is an adjective.

Thank you, John and Libor, for your explanation. Mostly it is written P. seminationis, but now I will use P. seminatione.

Taxonomic comment at Fauna Europaea http://www.faunae...?id=405392: "seminationis is a noun in the genitive case (from 'seminatio') and does not change according to the gender of genus name (neutrum in Platystoma)."

That was my comment!

I have studied the case very carefully and arrived at the conclusion that "is" is the correct ending for the reason it is not an adjective in nominative case, but a noun (?) in the genitive case

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
