Hello!

The everlasting question... This one from a tree trunk in our garden today (Ostwestfalen/Germany) was not much bigger than the Drosophilids nearby, only about 4 mm. What could it be? Thanks!

J?rgen, please mind the size of the pictures. These are 800 pixels wide and they strech the window too much.

Sorry, I thought 800 pixels were the limit. I'm always afraid of losing too many details with smaller sizes, especially when even the original pics are not very sharp. I have now resized them to 640x480.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
