Hi,

I have attached another picture of a fly that I am unsure of the identification of. The closest I can see in the gallery is a female Drosophila melanogaster, but looking at the other Drosophila flies it may not be possible to get to species level from these pictures.

The pictures were taken on 25th May 2006, in Farnham Surrey Southern England.
Shady area close to a small garden pond.
Exact size was not noted but it was a small fly less than 5mm in length.

Can anyone confirm this Id for me please ? (or not as the case may be)

Regards Chas

Drosophila, but not melanogaster. I'll look into it tomorrow.
