After reading some of the messages about it being very difficult to identify this group from photos I wonder if this is possible at all. It was at Sandy in Bedfordshire UK, august 2005. In the image to the right is a burrow of another wasp that was carrying dead bees, I have photos of these too if they would be of help. The ichneumon was going down the burrows (I have other photos of it half down the burrow etc). It was a medium to large ichneumon. miked attached the following image: [118.36Kb] |
