Hello everyone again! I collected this larvae from a bromeliad (phytotelmata) in a cloud forest (aprox. 2000 meters above sea level) in Ecuador. The larvae (or is it a pupae?) is somewhat sclerotized, and has a triangular shape that can not be appreciated in the picture; it also has a clear and light brown coloration. Thank you in advance! ernestovp85 attached the following image: [19.11Kb] Edited by ernestovp85 on 07-06-2011 23:28 |

There is something that looks a bit like a cecid spatula - triangular shape might also fit Cecidomyiidae, but the long posterior spiracles are not typical. What size is it? Tony ---------- Tony Irwin |

Hi Tony! I'll attach another pic with a scale bar so you can check up the size of the larvae. ernestovp85 attached the following image: [45.57Kb] |
