Hello, This Cecidomyiidae has been collected in Vietnam and reared from flowers of Hiptage aptera M.T.X.Lam & T.V.Do (Malpighiaceae) that has been described a few weeks ago. If someone can identify the subfamily or, even better, a tribe or a genus for this Cecidomyiidae that would be of a great help ! I've seen that only two species of Cecidomyiidae are reported from Vietnam, based on 2021's Catalog of the Cecidomyiidae (Diptera) of the World, so I don't expect to find an expert of this family for this region that seems to be understudied. Presumably subfamily Cecidomyiinae. With 13 short flagellomeres, without necks, it is probably not supertribe Cecidomyiidi. No Cecidomyiidae are recorded from Asian Malpighiaceae. |
