Is this a Merodon? (from Croatia, 2 pics)

Hello to all!
Is this some Merodon species, or am I totally wrong here? Size about 12-15mm.

1.6.2010, Croatia, Kamenjak (southernmost part of Istria).

Yes, it's a Merodon allright, and with these very enlarged hind femora and it's size I would say a male Merodon clavipes!
