this is a Sphaeroceridae, yes ? June 8. 2009 Loviisa, Finland.

This time not a sphaerocerid because of the long 1st segment of hind tarsus (compare eg. with the equivalent short segment in the previous picture).

But what is it then? Is there a light spot in the front part of the thorax above the first legs? Could it be an Amiota (Drosophilidae)?

No this is a sphaerocerid...the hind tarsi are not visible (what looks like the hind leg is the mid leg)

As glossy as it is, it might be Lotophila atra but difficult to be certain with too many details not visible. With a specimen, now,...
