Many keys say things like 'Eyes hairy', others are more descriptive saying things like 'Eyes densely hairy' or 'long haired' etc. I don't know if this will work but here is the url to a small through focus movie of a fly's hairy eye, I would be interested to know how you would describe the hairyness of this eye. http://www.hadley...ehairs.wmv Alan Alan Hadley |

Hmmm, I think I would say hairy, but not densely hairy. However, the movie does not really help one to judge the density very well. A Focus stacked still photo might be better?

I think this was is 'hairy' but not 'densely' or 'long'.
