Hello!

The repeatingly occuring question: Muscidae or Anthomyiidae (with about 7 mm it seems a little big for Fanniidae)? Found at our house yesterday, northwest Germany.

Looks like Botanophila fugax Mg. male (Anthomyiidae). I can't see the acrostichals clearly, but fugax has 1 pair of strong presutural acrostichals, the rest are fine hairs except the prescutellar pair.

This is not a definite identification!!

Many thanks for your explanations! I will leave a 'cf.' in the name then.
Best regards,
Jürgen
