A Pyrenean Asilinae : Stilpnogaster aemula

Hello, This Asilinae was found on the edge of a lake surrounded by forests at an altitude of 1935m. It looks like a Stilpnogaster but has black legs. Maybe it is a Machimus without pruina on the abdomen? Could it be a species not yet described? I have only 1 picture. Hi, Stilpnogaster aemula indeed. Quite typical are the white apical margins on the tergites. Sometimes the red on the legs can be very dark, nearing black, as is the case in your specimen. Best, Jonne |
