Dear forum,

This fly of which I took a picture this afternoon in my glasshouse resembles somewhat the fly which was id'd this morning as a Lonchoptera. But it is twice as big (approx 5 mm). Is it a Lonchoptera as well?

Best regards, Niek

Dear Andrzej,

Thank you for your reaction. I'm really getting confused: This morning I posted a thread as "Heleomyzidae?" which was in fact
Lonchopteridae, and now exactly vice-versa!

Best regards, Niek

For the Lonchopteridae, look at the very strong bristles on the head. This is a good criterion.
