Are you sure? The frontal dust spots are too large and other details also do not fit (e.g. base of front tibia dark, etc.). I vote for a very dark female of Meliscaeva auricollis. Such specimens are sometimes very confusing but except for the colour they are completely identical with "normal" auricollis. Cheers, Dieter |

My first hunch was auricollis too... no, to be honest I am not sure. In fact, I withdraw my hunch. The legs are too dark (also for albimanus), scutellum has a strange color. It's a strange picture, even this sharp I hope she has more pics for us (or collected it). |
