The CCW lists three Nephrotoma species in Colombia: N. alleni, N. globosa and N. medioligula.
I haven’t found any recent revisions of the genus, nor any online images of these species.
However, looking at the original descriptions of Alexander (1913 as Pachyrhina alleni, 1969 N. globosa and 1945 N. medioligula), it seems to me that this specimen fits the description of N. globosa and that alleni and medioligula can be eliminated as possible candidates.

So, if the Nephrotoma species present in Colombia are actually restricted to the 3 species listed above and if this specimen is indeed a Nephrotoma sp., then N. globosa would be the most likely candidate in my view.

What do you think?
