Hi,
On 22 October I took pictures of a 3-4 mm fly sitting on Helichrysum arenarium southeast of Berlin. Its habitus doesn't ring a bell to me, so I really hope for help! Many thanks in advance,
Sundew

Ah - a tiny predatory muscid, how interesting. It looks very characteristic, and the males are said to have a golden face, so I will keep that species in mind. Thank you so much, Tony.
