Hello!

When looking through some older photos I found this still unidentified Syrphid from Sep-11, 2006. Length about 6-7 mm, at a hedge. Ostwestfalen/Germany. What could it be? Thanks!

Many thanks! Is that the same as Fagosyrphus cinctus (and *not* as Meligramma c.)?
Best regards,
Jürgen

It is sad news. I read him a month ago, as he replied to me about a wrong identification. He was brilliant, as always.
