On an urban wasteland in Vienna, early June.
Unfortunately a side view was not granted by the specimen.

All requests are from the urban area of Vienna, if not otherwise stated.

My Diptera observations (and other living forms) can be found here, and corrections or comments over there would also be appreciated.

It is a male, but the eyes seem to be just non-touching ? If correct, that should be a clue.

In fact there seems to be a tiny gap. Would Dialineura be an option?

First antennal segment contradicts Dialineura.
Therevidae is not really my thing. Let’s wait for Ectemnius / Elias.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
