Hello,
I know Sarcophaga usually cannot be identified with photos, but maybe I am lucky with this one. SE-Netherlands heathlands 3 July 2023. This fly fell prey to a digger wasp Bembix rostrata and was left behind at the nest entrance. Can this be identified as Sarcophaga spec or even at species level? Thanks in advance for your help.

Bet regards,
Annemiek van Dijk

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
