hi,

this is my first exemplar of Anisopodidae photographed.
can be identified after photo? collected specimen.
maybe there are not to many species who fly in winter time.

Retezat National Park, 13.January.2008, ~1200m

Not Anisopodidae but one of the aquatic Empididae. I cannot recall those very well anymore (been years since I last identified them) but it could be a 'nivalis' species. Wink
You could include it with the mycetophilids...

title changed. maybe more will be attracted.
checking thrugh the gallery Wiedemannia is very similar.
i hope i will find another exemplar, so i will have a voucher specimens for the park here. but i will keep your wish in the mind.

Looks more like Clinocera. Wiedemannia has a much longer head when looked at from the side
