Hello,

only some centimeters apart from the Heptatoma pellucens I noticed this very large fly (>25 mm) sitting on blackberries at a hedge near a small rivulet (northwest Germany). I could only take two photos, before it flew away. Is an ID possible from this perspective?

P.S.: These big Tabanidae weren't agressive, but while taking photos I was bitten by two Haematopota pluvialis... Angry

Yes, that is sudeticus.

I guess, you didn’t resemble a cow to her. Smile

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
