Hello, at first I thought, I had found a Stratiomys longicornis (rather surprising in August), but then I saw, it must have been a Tabanid. On Heracleum near a small brook (northwest Germany), about 15 mm. Must have been on Anthriscus sylvestris at that time. I've only got some bad photos with a cheap camera.
