Hello,
here is a Chironomus found at home (near a garden) the 10th 03 2022.Size : 10 mm.
Locality : Luçon, middle west of France.

Is it possible to agree the species ?

It looks darker than Chironomus plumosus but the early spring generation of Chironomidae is often darker than the warm weather form. The genitalia look good for plumosus.
