Chamaemyiidae, maybe a male Leucopis sp [I think]...

I see that it is a very complicated group. Could you recommend good sources that would be helpful at least for a safe genus ID?

Hi Lorin,
Well assuming I might be correct in my ID, I really don't know anything about these. I only photograph flies etc, no expertise in Id'ing them. Just go by how they look. Occasionally get it right Wink There are a couple of threads I found regarding them from years ago. Might be of interest...

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
