thanksChristian,
Why does this genus is hard on identification? is it because lake of genus information or does this genus need genitalia examination?
I notice a lot of wasp are very hard to identify from an image, I know that fly are compared by bristles, venation and genitalia. how does it work in Hymenoptera order?

It exists a recent revision of mediterranean Liris, which also works in Israel, so identification with pinned specimens is possible. But characters for species ID are few and barely visible, so ID needs some experience. Characters are many, but mostly not visible on photo (e.g. puncture of various body parts, form of mandible, some furrows etc. on legs, sculpture of pygidial area...).

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
