Hi, I've seen my first Anopheles in my garden: Ansbach, DE-Franconia, Frankenhoehe Nature Park, old deciduous forest, 2021-09-03+ and I think it could be Anopheles claviger. Can this be confirmed by the following images? 1st: Female 2021-09-03: eklans attached the following image: [34.8Kb] Edited by eklans on 10-09-2021 11:19 |

I think the first (female) and the third (female) look OK for claviger. The second (male) has quite a dark thorax, and could be plumbeus, but often it's very difficult to separate these species, even with a specimen.

Thanks a lot, Tony! During the same session I made zoomed fotos of the male with and w/o flash. I think the dark colour of the male depends on flash and the white mentha-blossom. But I will try to make more fotos to be sure. eklans attached the following image: [182.46Kb] Greetings, Eric Kloeckner |
