Is this the picture from the top view? From Theo: in bromius the alula is triangular as in most other Tabanus, but in maculicornis it is remarkable narrow and rectangular. If you have both species, the difference should be very obvious right away. |

Thanks again Libor ! These are 2 new photos of the right wing from the top view (after I removed the pin that was placed at the alula ). I find this alula narrow compared to some bromius photos, but still triangular ... I don't have a bromius to compare with. So still in doubt ... |
