Hi all, I have this fine specimen to ID. It was from a pan trap taken off an oilseed rape (Canola) crop in spring 2014. I'm totally confused. Not sure if the big bulbous head if from the water in pan trap, or ethanol it was stored in. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Conopidae, Myopinae. The type genus of the subfamily, Myopa, must have been named after the unusual head. |
