Dear Kurt and John, Please, provide us with the characters that point out that this might be D. migrans. I don't see them. Cheers, Marc |

I followed Grichanov's key to northern European species, adding "possibly" because females can not be reliably identified and I could not see clearly the bend in M. Femora yellow Postocular cilia pale Mid basitarsus with dorsal seta Calypter with dark cilia Antenna dark Bend in M sharp Frons looks more blue than green to me |

Dear John, It is a tricky business to try to ID a species on basis of a picture and a key that might be questionable. See a.o. the antenna, which seems to have a scape with a paler ventral part. This implies that one of your characters is not correct, which renders your ID equally debatable. Unless I have very clear diagnostic and preferably decisive characters in a picture, I keep my IDs probable at most. Cheers, Marc |
