This larvae looks different from that of the larval phographs of Miroslav. There are no sclerites on the third thoracic segment as is the case in the Czech specimens of Miroslav. Stuke (2004: downloadable from http://www.schweb...gidae.pdf) gives two sets of larvae: X. ater with two large sclerites on the third thoracic segment and X. cinctus with an almost entirely sclerotized third thoracic segment. So these specimens from Germany appear to be yet another species, other than ater or cinctus.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
