On the one hand David K. McAlpine (2012: "Notes and Descriptions of Australian Helosciomyzidae or Comb-winged flies (Diptera: Schizophora) wrote that "[mail]Helosciomyza fuscinevris[/mail] is the only Australian species of the genus with pteropleural (anepimeral) setulae."
One the other hand we have specimens with body length 6-6.5 mm (on photo) and 4.5-5.5.mm, otherwise very similar but without specimens of intermediate size. A task for our Australian colleagues.
