Hello,
Here is a fly from our garden, met there on 5th August. I have only photos from behind, but the wing venation is well seen, and the four dots might be decisive.

Hi Sundew.
Such a dots on abdomen is a call for genus Helina, to which most probably belongs your fly (though there are Helinas without spots and non-Helina with spots)
