A very nice Chrysops nigripes female ! I did not expect this species in Southern Norway at lower altitude. Could you please give some more information on latitude and altitude ?

Thanks a lot, Theo! I explained the location and altitude a little inaccurately. It is from the northern part of south Norway. "Lower mountain area" is here 974m above sea level. 62.213084 degrees N, 009.833225 degrees E.

OK, that makes sense. Please bear in mind our highest “mountain” is 300 m asl.
