Taken in Denmark the first of june. Following the key by Spencer (1972) I ended up with the alternatives orbiculata and pulicaria. The wing is 2 mm long.
Two much smaller (but larger than acr.) hairs in front of and in line with the 2 dc bristles might qualify as dorsocentrals?
The frons is easily visible above/in front of the eye when viewed in profile so I lean towards orbiculata.
The red discolouring of wing and thorax is due to "compression sickness".

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
